Naming the new rose
After the huge success and interest in the first Firestar Rose, it was only natural that the people behind Firestar began to seek out the next rose in the series.
Once it had been found, there was only one problem- what to call it? So a call was put out to all members of CFA to come up with a great name for the next rose in the series. It had to have a link to fire, reflect moving forward and use a positive reference, be suitable for a rose, be easy to spell and pronounce and be easily understood by the wider community.
The member with the winning name would receive a Firestar rose plant and be invited to attend the official launch of the new rose, along with the honour of naming the new rose.
We received some excellent and thoughtful entries, and came up with three finalists from the many entries.

• Firestar New Life
Firestar Phoenix was judged the winner and the paperwork put in order.
